First of all, I was not in the city for 2 days. As a former Chief of Staff in the SAHP department and an RN as an LSPD Chief of Staff, I know the server rules very well.
I was also responsible for recruiting and training officers, so I understand how law enforcement RP should be handled.
While driving my car, I accidentally hit an officer who was parked in the middle of the road while I was heading to Market. he followed me, asked for my pass, and i immediately showed it to him. Instead of allowing the situation to develop through RP, he arrested me on the spot without giving me any opportunity to explain myself or investigate what happened.
From my point of view, several RP rules were broken during this situation:
Fail RP / Poor Law Enforcement RP the officer immediately escalated the situation to an arrest instead of investigating the incident, asking questions, or allowing proper roleplay to take place.
P.G he forced the arrest without giving me a reasonable chance to respond, explain the accident, or continue the RP naturally.
Win RP: The situation felt one-sided, where the officer forced an outcome that only benefited his side without allowing interaction or roleplay from mine.
Failure to Follow Standard Police Procedures: In most serious RP servers, reckless driving by a civilian results in a fine (around $2,000), a warning, or possibly a license suspension for repeated offenses—not immediate jail time unless other crimes are involved.
Ignoring High Command Instructions: When his High Command instructed him to release me, he uncuffed me but then immediately arrested me again without any new reason or change in the situation. This directly contradicted his superior's instruction and unnecessarily prolonged the situation.
Lack of RP Interaction: He did not attempt to inspect the vehicle, ask for an explanation, or determine whether the collision was intentional or accidental before making the arrest.
Because of this arrest, I ended up losing my job. During the situation, I even asked him to uncuff me for a moment so i could flex my muscles and use my department radio to contact either his High Command or my own Chief, but I was denied the opportunity.
At the end, I did mix because I was waiting for an admin to handle the situation. Instead, I was muted and forced to continue with the RP without being able to explain myself.
Imagine this happening to a completely new player who just joined Libra RP. Experiences like this can easily push new players away from the server.
I'm not writing this because I want the officer punished. My goal is simply to make sure the right people are placed in the right positions and properly trained. Situations like this hurt the quality of RP and can cause the server to lose players.
You can ask anyone from the departments I previously worked in. I always did my best to maintain high RP standards, help train officers, and represent both the departments and the server in a positive way.
